While automation is cool, it does require that you completely pre-plan how everything is recorded. Loop automation is a way to automatically punch in/out. This is what Elise Trouw and Hanna do (see Hanna's little demo of setting up automation below). That's ^^ a bummer The only other known solution is to do automation to start/stop/play recording on an audio track. But, it was better than clicking a mouse with a computer but nothing like using a dedicated looper or my iPad looping rig. I never felt comfortable using it as a live instrument. In reality, the Launchpad is not technically a change from the Nanokey but it'll be a nicer controller to play.įWIW, I did own a Push 2 a few years ago. I'm hoping to use the LPP for all the MIDI functions, sequencing, and mixing. Currently, I have a little Korg Nanokey Studio keyboard but it's cheesy.my plan is to replace the Nanokey with the Launchpad Pro. That's turned out to be the killer looper setup - so much so that I sold my Singular Sound Aeros. I use an Airturn 6 Bluetooth footswitch for arming and track control. I have also been using my iPad to do looping with Group The Loops/AUM/and various instrument apps (AUV3s). Maybe it'll work for me?.I'll have to experiment.

I'll have to be quick to hit the play button to end the track.
#Taptempo without modifying audio ableton pro#
Since Ableton fixed clips only works for MIDI tracks, that limits my use of Launchpad Pro + Ableton as a live looper with a guitar. For shooting a pre-planned YouTube video, that works but my interest is live looping with various instruments. Click to expand.Loop automation is a way to automatically punch in/out.
